The Largest Youth-Led Chinese Advocacy Organization in Toronto
In February 2020, following the death of whistleblower Dr. Li Wenliang, a wave of protests was organized by Chinese international students across the world. Out of that moment, AoC was born. After two years of actively organizing and participating in rallies opposing the overseas influence of the CCP and supporting the people of Hong Kong and Taiwan, AoC was officially registered in Canada as an NPO in May 2022. With chapters established across Canada and around the world, it co-organized the 33rd Anniversary Memorial of June 4th in Toronto, which attracted over a thousand participants.
宗旨 | PURPOSE
Our activities are guided by three core goals:
To serve
Authoritarianism has deeply damaged political and civic dynamic in China. AoC aims to build an overseas platform rooted in autonomy, cooperation, and mutual education, facilitating engagement and integration between Chinese-Canadians and local civil society.
To explore
Each generation faces its own challenges and opportunities. As a youth-led organization, AoC encourages its members to make full use of local resources, explore diverse modes of resistance, and inspire new ideas toward a viable path for democratic transition.
To act
AoC is a subject of acting, we will not flee from our duties because of confrontational pressure. We are committed to using every available and peaceful means to defend the rights of Chinese people around the world and to oppose authoritarian encroachment on open societies.
We need volunteers!

"What I see most clearly in young people is our shared instinct—an innate human yearning for freedom and democracy. The approaches may differ, but that's secondary. The fact that they’re willing to try—I fully support that."
– Fengsuo Zhou
"Here in Canada, we will continue pushing for legislation and working with relevant government bodies to limit the political influence of Chinese state-backed interest groups. At the same time, we need everyday Canadian voters to act—by voting or calling their local MP’s office."
– Wester Yang
"As we speak, a genocide is being committed against Muslims in China. As we speak, Tibet is enduring cultural, linguistic, and religious oppression. As we speak, China is making a mockery of 'One Country, Two Systems,' trampling on Hong Kong’s freedoms and blatantly violating the Basic Law."
